How Trick of the week and Weekly ranking works

To participate in the Trick of the week contest you must upload a video and select trick, nothing else.

What if I upload more than one per week?

Up to three tricks posts per week can be awarded, more will be considered spam and only the highest scoring trick will be visible on the home page and count towards the final choice of the totw.

How is the winner chosen?

Automatically every Monday at 00:01 hours, Spanish time, the server chooses the trick of the previous week using an algorithm to calculate the score based on some stats of social interaction (likes, comments, shares,...), the time position can be seen in the Weekly ranking section on the main page.

It is important to have enough statistics, so a trick uploaded from Monday to Thursday will have a better chance than a trick uploaded from Friday to Sunday.

Rules

• No rules about the trick. Your choice.
• Winner will go to Winners main page section forever.
  Each participant must click like more than once on other people's tricks. Support each other's efforts.
• The algorithm can penalise you for: spam, auto-likes, likes with fake users, poor video quality or poor recording quality among other parameters. So don't try to cheat and respect the efforts of others by supporting good tricks with your likes, comments and sharing.

Recommendations

• The video must be new and unique. Especially if you post a trick that you think will be in the top 5, wait for us to share it on Instagram and other networks before you share it yourself. We share the top 5 every week on @skatehype.app
• It must be well recorded and posted with the original file, at full resolution and frames per second, no cuts, no black bars, no logos, no ads. Minimal or no editing. The system detects as many mistakes as it can and penalises you for them.
• Shorten the trick by discarding unnecessary seconds of video.
• Share playlists, albums or other content from your profile, or even your profile directly. Getting visitors from outside the app to your profile scores points for both ranking and rewards.
• Remember, this is just a game that should serve as extra motivation for your skateboarding, if it's making you obsessed or creating bad vibes don't play.

How can I be rewarded?

You must have a Hive account connected to your skatehype.com profile. Every day several tricks can be rewarded and will be chosen by the order shown in the Weekly ranking section.

• Daily rewards per trick. Best comments are also rewarded!
